A TEENAGER, who only started dancing this year, is heading to the Royal Ballet School in September.
Joseph Burke, 13, of Carlton in Cleveland, took his first dance steps in January and has already been accepted to the top dance school in the country.
Joseph has been taking part in the Royal Academy of Dance summer school, in Middlesbrough, this week with 96 other young dancers.
As well as being taught by some of the top dance instructors in the world, the youngsters have been inspired by Andrew Barker, a former pupil of the summer school.
Andrew, 21, who attended the summer school five years ago, has been accepted as a member of the Europe Ballet Company. He returned to his roots this week to meet other youngsters.
Sue Hewgill, of the summer school, said: "Andrew has been a real inspiration to the boys. There are more girls than boys on the course, but it has been good for them to meet a man who is a successful dancer."
