A FIVE-DAY celebration of markets and pots is taking place in Darlington next month.

As well as a variety of crockery for sale, most of which is not normally available in the area, the Darlington Market Festival and Pot Fair will be complemented by entertainment for all ages.

The event begins in the Market Place on Friday, August 3.

On the first day, there will be the pot fair, a tea dance sing-along and the Energy Action Grants Agency Roadshow bus.

On Saturday, August 4, the general market and pot fair will combine.

Day three of the festival, on the Sunday, will combine the pot fair with a charity extravaganza, with a host of local organisations promoting their causes and raising money through the sale of bargain goods.

Monday, August 6, will again combine the general market and pot fair, and there will be face painting and Punch and Judy.

On the following day there will be a last chance to buy from the crockery stalls
