CHILDREN could be asked to give their views on the future development of a town as part of a large-scale research project.
Subject to its endorsement by Middlesbrough Borough Council's cabinet, the Middlesbrough Youth Survey will be carried out among ten to 19- year-olds.
It is hoped it will identify their needs and priorities, and lead to the formation of a Young Citizens' Panel to take part in future consultations.
Councillor Walter Ferrier, commissioner for citizens' service, said: "It became apparent, during work on the Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Survey, that there was a need to investigate the views of young people."
