CHILDREN had a chance to try out a coffin for size and pin the tail on a werewolf at a North-East museum.
Deadly Durham Games started on Saturday at the dli Museum and Durham Art Gallery.
The games, which include stocks, a giant Lambton Worm and ladders, and a skeleton-making kit, were designed and made by Newcastle artist Sharon Wilson.
Ms Wilson, who confessed to being "a bit of a goth" as a teenager, said: "The games are for everyone interested in the theme, not just children."
They will run until September 9, alongside the Horrible Histories Funfair of Fear exhibition, in which local author Terry Deary explores 2,000 years of British history with the horrid bits left in.
The dli Museum is open every day from 10am to 5pm and admission costs £2.50 for adults (£1.50 concessions.)
