VISITORS to a North-East museum will have claws to celebrate when they look around its new summer exhibition.
Newcastle's Discovery Museum is exploring the world of cats in its Claws exhibition, which runs until September 9.
The hands-on exhibition examines the huge variations in the cat family, including lions, leopards, tigers and the domestic cat.
Exhibits include preserved cats and an animated model of an 8ft long sabretooth tiger.
Curator Graham Bradshaw said: "Claws is an intriguing glimpse into the world of one of the most impressive predators. It provides a rare opportunity to get up close to some awesome big cats and uncover some of the mysteries surrounding them."
The museum is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm, and Sunday, 2pm to 5pm.
Entrance is free.
