A GP surgery has received an Investors in Children Award, thanks to the help of local teenagers.
Middle Chare Surgery, in Chester-le-Street, won the award after listening to the needs of young people and improving their access to the surgery and its services.
A group of teenagers helped by visiting the practice, asking patients for their views and producing a list of ideas.
The developments include a young person clinic, a birthday card for teenagers explaining what services are available and notice boards with subjects of interest to children.
