A BUSY stretch of motorway was the scene of a second crash in as many days yesterday.
A female driver suffered head and neck injuries when her car overturned on the southbound carriageway of the A1M between Washington Services and Blind Lane junction at Chester-le-Street.
Following the morning rush-hour accident, involving just one vehicle, she was taken to Gateshead's Queen Elizabeth hospital. Her injuries aren't thought to be serious.
On Tuesday a woman passenger suffered minor injuries during a smash at virtually the same spot on the half-mile long slip road before junction 63.
In this incident a Mercedes and a Peugeot 406 collided as they negotiated a long bend.
