A COLLEGE and radio station joined forces to make sure that children had a fun day out.
East Durham and Houghall Community College hosted events and entertainment for National Playday yesterday.
Youngsters who went to the college's Howletch Centre, in Peterlee, enjoyed activities ranging from bouncy castles and face-painting to sports tournaments.
The event was supported by Galaxy Radio and opened by presenter Leigh Purves.
There was plenty of entertainment on offer for everyone and prizes for youngsters taking part in the fun.
College principal Ian Prescott said: "This event gets more and more popular every year. It's a pleasure to support the event that gives so much enjoyment to the children that will hopefully be our students one day.
