YOUNGSTERS are being encouraged to sample a variety of sports, in events organised by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council.

Tag rugby is on offer for eight to 15-year-olds at Guisborough Rugby Club tomorrow, and at St Peter's School, South Bank, on Friday, August 17.

A netball event will be held at De Brus School, Skelton, tomorrow.

Cricket for eight to 13-year-olds takes place at Redcar Cricket Club from next Tuesday to Thursday and Marske Cricket Club from Wednesday, August 15, to Friday, August 17, and Skelton Castle on Saturday and Sunday, August 25 and 26,

Beaches are the venues for volleyball sessions at Saltburn on Tuesday, August 14, and Redcar on Tuesday, August 28 .

Youngsters can try tennis at Marske Tennis Club on Tuesday, Saltburn Tennis Club on Thursday, and Zetland Park, Redcar, on Thursday, August 16. Induction sessions are at St Peter's School, South Bank, on Friday, August 10.

A five-day course for under 13s takes place at Saltburn from Monday and for under-nines at Guisborough from Monday, August 13.
