A Soldier has been playing hockey for his regiment in Australia.
Lance Corporal Karl Manton, 22, a former pupil of Rye Hills School, Redcar, east Cleveland, is a member of the Green Howards hockey team.
Despite the fact that the team lost all but one of their games, he said the trip had been a wonderful experience.
During the visit, the squad took time out to enjoy the sights of the area, including a day's wine tasting and an excursion to the Blue Mountains.
L/Cpl Manton has also been to Bahrain and Singapore with the hockey team, and represents the first battalion in the regiment's boxing team. He also plays football and rugby.
