THE entrance to Sunderland's Stadium of Light was turned into a beach yesterday.
Teams of youngsters took part in a five-a-side soccer competition on sand as part of the build up to the launch of the club's blue away strip.
The Nike strip, which was used for the first time in the friendly at Celtic, went on sale at the club's shop at the stadium and in the city centre at 9pm last night.
This morning, fans will be able to get hold of the kit from the Savacentre store in Washington and Joplings in Sunderland from 8am. The club's shop in the MetroCentre, Gateshead, opens at 10am.
The kit is made up of Scotland blue and royal blue strips.
Midfielder Don Hutchison said: "I think it's fantastic - one which the lads will enjoy wearing.
"The strip looks great and I'm sure it will be popular with our fans."
