A PROJECT aimed at helping adults with learning difficulties has had a financial windfall.
Craft Works, which was set up in 1993, provides life skills and work experience for adults with special needs across North Yorkshire and County Durham.
Its service is to be enhanced by a £900 grant from the Stepping Stone Fund set up by Consignia, formerly the Post Office.
The group, which has local postman John Mason as its chairman, holds twice-weekly art and craft workshops at the village hall in Whorlton, near Richmond.
Anne Noble, workshop manager, said: "We are very grateful for the award from the Stepping Stone Fund. It will enable our members to gain new skills and become more independent, which is very important."
