ACCOUNTANT Anne Young raised £600 for charity by cycling 110 miles across the North-East.
Ms Young, 35, of Kenton, Newcastle, works at the North Eastern and Cumbrian Co-op's headquarters, in Gateshead, and visited the Co-op's eight department stores at Bishop Auckland, Chester-le-Street, Gateshead, Newcastle, Blyth, Ashington, Amble and Gateshead.
The trip took ten hours, and at each store she was greeted by the manager and staff and given food to boost her energy. Her effort raised £660 for Marie Curie Cancer Care. The money will go towards the charity's centre in Newcastle and the region's 350 Marie Curie nurses.
Nationally, the Co-op is backing the charity through its Caring Together campaign.
Ms Young said it was hard work thanks to a head wind, but she managed to make the last train home from Berwick with 15 minutes to spare.
