A FAMILY fun extravaganza in aid of Cancer Research is to take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
The charity event at Hurworth Community Centre, from noon on Sunday, August 26, is being supported by Darlington's Iceland store, in Yarm Road.
Attractions include jazz music, karate demonstrations, football, Territorial Army displays and craft stalls. Also planned are Punch and Judy shows, a minature railway, and an appearance by Darlington firefighters, who are bringing a fire engine for youngsters to look over.
A prize draw will round off the day with a chance to win a £1,000 holiday.
A free shuttle bus from the Iceland store will be available to ferry passengers to the event from noon.
