INFAMOUS crook Spider Boy is refusing to give himself up to police - because he wants a suntan.
Police are hunting the tearaway - real name Tommy Laws - after he snubbed probation appointments because he was busy making a film about his crimes.
He has vowed to stay on the run - because he is enjoying the heatwave too much.
He said: "I don't want to go back to prison. I have got a son and I still want to make a go of it.
"I have spent the last six summers inside. I'm not going to miss this one. There's a heatwave and I want to get a suntan."
Charity bosses sparked outrage when it was revealed they were to pay the criminal to make a TV documentary after he was released from prison.
Laws, now 21, is making a video warning children from problem estates to stay away from crime.
Laws shot to infamy as a 15-year-old by escaping from secure institutions.
He was pictured racing across a rooftop in his home town of North Shields, North Tyneside, with police officers pursuing him - an image that led to his nickname, Spider Boy.
Laws was released from Holme House Prison in Stockton, Teeside, after serving nine months of an 18-month term for affray and escaping custody.
On his release he was warned he must fulfil the terms of his release or return to prison to face the rest of his sentence.
A probation service spokeswoman confirmed he would be returned to prison as soon as he is caught.
