CARNIVAL fun descended on a town at the weekend.
Stockton was awash with colour as a weekend of music and dance was incorporated into the Stockton International Riverside Festival. The fun was a celebration of UK carnival sound and colour in all its forms.
On Saturday, Stockton Community Carnival took to the High Street to entertain visitors with a procession of 120 performers, as well as some of the country's leading street bands.
There was some local input too - Stockton's own community street band, Boogie Voodoo, took part in the procession, as did a group of stiltwalkers, the youngest of whom was eight years old, who used the carnival for their debut performance.
Yesterday, top street band The Barracudas, from Cumbria, teamed up with the Trinidad and Tobago Carnival Club for a huge street party, featuring DJs, elaborate costumes and live music.
