VICTORIA may not have been amused, but the times she lived in are very entertaining for the Goult family.
Farmer Allan, his wife Pamela and their children Karl, Craig and Michelle are so keen on the Victorian era that they spend their weekends reliving it.
The family, who live at Knayton, near Thirsk, first caught the bug at a Victorian week in Saltburn in 1988.
"It must have been marvellous to live at that time, if you were comfortably off and not scrubbing floors," said Mrs Goult.
She fell in love with the clothes of the period and her designs for costumes have won her numerous prizes, and her husband's beard has won prizes at Victorian events.
They are setting up a group which is looking at all aspects of the Victorian era.
