VISITORS, patients and staff will be able to say it with flowers when a charity opens its new convenience store at the University Hospital North Durham.
The Women's Royal Voluntary Service (WRVS) is looking for volunteers to help at this store, as well as at a new gift shop and tea bars in the outpatients and accident and emergency departments.
WRVS hospital services manager Debbie Mason said: "Our store needs more helpers to join the existing team of dedicated volunteers waiting to welcome any newcomers, as they really care about helping to create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere in the hospital.
"The projects would suit students training in health and social care, retail or business administration, or anyone who simply wants to learn new skills.
"By joining the WRVS, not only will people make new friends, but they will also help their local hospital by providing these services," she said.
Shifts will be available every day at these new projects. Travel expenses are reimbursed and training will be provided.
