DETECTIVES are waiting to speak to a badly injured man who could hold the key to a murder.
Police are treating as "suspicious" the death of 41-year-old market trader Kalvant Singh, whose body was discovered lying in the backyard of a house in central Middlesbrough.
Unemployed builder Michael Moody, 54, who is the tenant of the house in Errol Street is in Middlesbrough General Hospital, where he was admitted suffering from severe head injuries.
Detective Superintendent Mark Braithwaite, joint head of a special murder squad, and senior investigating officer said: "We have not been able to speak to him because of the severity of the injuries."
