A POLICE officer is urging residents on a Darlington estate to help him cut crime.
PC Gary Davison's plea follows an incident in which he was able to arrest two men for drugs offences thanks to a call from a resident and the new closed- circuit television (CCTV) network on the Firth Moor estate.
PC Davison works closely with residents via Neighbourhood House, in Helmsley Moor Way, and the Westmoor Road Community Centre.
On Saturday, a report from a member of the public informed PC Davison of two males involved in drugs offences, and he was able to confirm their whereabouts using the CCTV system and make the arrest.
PC Davison hopes more members of the public will contact him at weekly surgeries, alternating between the two community buildings every Wednesday. He can be contacted on (01325) 467681, or at Neighbourhood House, on (01325) 250006, for more details.
