LISTENERS to a radio station are being asked to donate books to raise cash for needy children in Teesside.
They can be taken to Magic 1170's building in Thornaby to raise funds for the station's charity, Make a Child Smile.
Presenter Alan Ross said: "Our research shows this area has a lot of problems that other areas do not have.
"There are a lot of self-help groups and charities formed by parents who have first-hand knowledge of many of the difficulties young people face. We can help these groups to keep going."
The sale of the books will take place in the car park at TFM and Magic 1170, on September 23, from 10am to 4pm.
"We are delighted with the response so far, many people are dropping off really good books."
