FUNDRAISERS are well on their way to achieving their target thanks to help from bank workers.
Staff from the Halifax, in Middlesbrough, presented £500 to the Albert Park Memorial Garden Fund.
The donation takes the group's total to £1,611, more than half way towards the £2,500 target it hopes to reach by October. It is planned to create a living memorial to forgotten war heroes as part of park restorations.
Fundraising secretary Marion Coles said the memorial would be for the forgotten heroes "like nurses and the Land Army".
She said the money from the Halifax was a big boost.
