The rivalry that exists between supporters of Darlington and Hartlepool United means that they do not always see eye-to-eye.
But for the sake of charity, fans of each club got together to stage a football match in aid of Jon Robert Collingwood who lost the use of his legs in a car crash last year.
Since the incident thousands of pounds have been raised for 17-year-old Jon who was on the verge of signing for Pool's youth team when the accident happened.
Players had to donate £10 each to play in the game and a raffle was also held; raising over £600 in the process.
Played on Sunday at the King George V playing fields in Hartlepool, the game went to a dramatic penalty shoot-out after the 90 minutes ended 3-3; there was no extra-time.
Scorers for Darlington were Chris Johnson, Dave Robinson and Matty Ashmore while Pool's hit-men were Ian Robson, Andy Normanton and Dave French.
The hosts won the shoot-out 4-1 but both teams enjoyed their day which was for a good cause and organisers have already discussed the possibility of a second game next year.
