Eurocell Marshall-Tufflex Darlington and District League - The foot-and-mouth epidemic and the inability of sides to find 11 players continues to worry the league.
No games went ahead in division A at the weekend and throughout the league a number of clubs conceded the result when they were unable to fulfil their fixture.
In division B Ingleton hosted Brompton-on-Swale and the sides produced a good game which Ingleton won by 58 runs.
Paul Watson crashed seven fours and four sixes in 68 and John Laundy added 50 with one six and eight boundaries when a total of 167 for nine was realised from 35 overs. Barry Leyburn bowled well in the Brompton attack sending down 18 overs and taking six wickets for 70 runs.
Replying Brompton were all out in 24 overs for 109 for which Barry Leyburn carried his bat for 33. Ken Gamack bowled 11 overs for Ingleton returning five for 52 and Mike Batey had three for 35 as Ingleton achieved victory with 58 runs to spare.
Cliffe bowled out Trimdon CCA for 98 and went on to win without losing a wicket. Curry took three for 26 and Knight three for 27 when Trimdon managed 95 for eight of which Coughtrey finished unbeaten on 42 after going in at number four. Rogerson dominated the Cliffe reply carrying his bat for 66 and forming an unbroken partnership of 96 with Knight (24no).
Eryholme had 120 runs to spare at Witton-le-Wear. Batting first Eryholme ended on 202 for six with most of the runs coming from opening batsman Warne who made 83 before being run out. Thornton was another victim of a run out and he contributed 42 to the Eryholme total.
Responding Witton-le-Wear were all out for 82 as Craggs claimed four wickets for 21 runs and Lynn captured two for 41.
In division C Rockliffe Park had the better of Catterick Village after totalling 192 for eight which included 80 by Belu. Catterick Village managed 73 as Swannick returned the excellent figures of six for 25.
The game between King James and Trimdon Colliery and Deaf Hill was abandoned at an interesting stage. Batting first King James totalled 132 with Owen taking six for 60 for Trimdon who responding were 120 for seven when the rain arrived. Lungett (31) and Camiss (37) were in form with the bat for Trimdon and for King James Franklyn took five of the seven wickets to fall for 27 runs. No games went ahead in division D
