Ian Bailey of Harrogate Angling Supplies was ever so close weighing in 54.10.0. A far side attack on pellet and meat off peg 23 collected small carp.

The Front Lake at Moor Monkton's Carpvale Poole hosted Wednesday's Open for the first time and Leeds visitor Dave Spence made the most of the opportunity hauling out 51.0.0. Opposite the island on peg 58 pole and pellet encouraged plenty of bream and small carp to finish comfortably ahead of Selby's Mick Laverick whose waggler and worm caught carp net resulted in 37.8.0.
Bream decided Tadcaster's latest open around Smaws Ings and the shallows at Newton Kyme once again was the place to draw.
Tadcaster's Billy Rilley pulled out fancied peg two and fishing groundbait feeder and caster down the middle between the weed beds 4 good bream responded at intervals for an impressive net of 21.14.0.
Armley's Barbara Jeffries on the adjoining peg also used groundbait feeder midriver but opted for worm on the hook securing two smaller samples for 8.3.0.
Skimmer bream continue to show on the lower reaches of the Tees at Bowesfield but disappointing entries mean that many miles of the water is hardly fished.
Darlington's Mick Clitheroe on the straight below Hawthorne bend won the Thornaby Stockwell Cup with 15.8.0.

Newman Scott's Peter Nixon slipped into runner up position just 6ozs adrift.

A very hot week made it difficult for trout anglers leaving fish rather lethargic.
Redworth's Jubilee Lakes kept up its big fish reputation sporting a string of double figured rainbows.
Cramlington's David Lumsdon grassed the largest of 17.12.0 on a damsel.
Meanwhile Darlington rods Brad Booth and Bert Willis landed specimens of 13.14.0 and 11.12.0 respectively to black buzzers.
Intense heat and brightness pushed fish deep at Leighton Reservoir and catch returns suffered. 167 visitors managed only 281 trout.
Most successful lures Dawsons Olive, Black & Green and Muddlers.
Heaviest rainbow 6.0.0 fell to Mr C. House of Darlington.
