MOUNTAIN bikes are on offer for the first boy and girl past the winning post in a charity fun run at Shildon's Jubilee Fields on Sunday, August 26.
The 2.8 mile run, to raise money for the Butterwick Hospice at Bishop Auckland, starts at Shildon Stadium.
The winning male and female adults will receive a 9ct gold watch. All entrants will receive a medal and certificate.
Thickley Ward Labour Party, in Shildon, is organising the family fun day.
Until 35 years ago, Shildon Show was held on the same weekend, and the hospice is hoping to stage an exhibition of old photographs, trophies and certificates dating from the 1940s and 50s.
Anyone who can lend items for display or who wants to enter the run can call Beryl Anderson on (01388) 603003.
A live show Juke Box Jive, at Shildon Leisure Centre, on Saturday, August 25, is already a sell-out
