Sedgefield made almost certain that they won't finish bottom of the table with a 41-run win over Tudhoe on Saturday.

Sedgefield's openers did a good job, and laid the foundation for victory. Professional Neil Mulvaney scored a half century, and with Ian Bell also scoring 39, they managed to reach 169.

Tudhoe skipper Kevin Littlefair took 4-55 in the Tudhoe attack, and then was prominent in his side's reply with 40. But he didn't have any support and his side were bowled out for 128.

Kimblesworth are still well out in front after they beat Willington by 79 runs. Kimblesworth's early batsmen had good knocks, with Michael Fishwick (52), Andrew Kelly (37), and Mahsood Mirza (48) all contributing to a total of 208 for the loss of eight wickets.

Michael Thorpe scored 58 for Willington, but Mirza took 5-19 as Willington were bowled out for 129. Willington are now joint bottom of the table with Tudhoe.

Evenwood are second after easily beating Langley Park by eight wickets.

Gavin Kellett produced his best bowling figures of the season of 7-20 as Langley were bowled out for 116. Sajjad Akbar was the only batsman to make an impression with 51. John Maughan was unbeaten on 39 as the visitors clinched victory.

Leadgate had an easy win over Brandon. The home side could only put on 104-9, because of some tight bowling by each of the Leadgate bowlers, although Stephen Dunsford managed to score 64.

Stephen Graham then hit an unbeaten 68 as Leadgate cruised to victory. Esh Winning narrowly beat Shildon Railway by 11 runs.

Mohammed Zahid top scored for Esh with 26 as they reached 129 for 7, with each of the Shildon bowlers taking at least a wicket.

Shildon had a chance while Gary Wigham was going well, but when he went out for 35, so did their chances of victory.

Ushaw Moor had an easy 117 run win over Mainsforth.

Ushaw pro Travis Dowlin again produced a powerful innings of 117, and with David Armstrong scoring 57, Ushaw only lost four wickets in reaching 240.

Stephen Hancock took 3-24 as Mainsforth were bowled out for 123, Arthur Willoughby the top scorer with 43.

Crook and Etherley had to share the points, as Etherley's innings was timed out, with them precariously hanging on with their score on 215-9 after a thrilling game.

Ian Greener and Shahid Anwar both scored half centuries as Crook reached 220-6, but Etherley hit back in spirited fashion with Richard Mangles hitting a late 65.
