BUSINESSES, residents and organisations in Derwentside have been invited to comment on a draft economic development strategy drawn up by the district council.
The aim of the strategy is to identify the key economic priorities for the forthcoming five-year period.
It sets out how those objectives will be met and determine what resources will be needed to deliver.
A district council spokesman said: "Defining a framework for activity will help ensure that work undertaken by local partners is both coordinated and successful in meeting Derwentside's economic needs.
"The strategy has been prepared on a partnership basis by a number of organisations which have an interest in local economic activity. However, it is important that comment is opened up to a wider audience."
An open meeting to explain the context and actions proposed within the document has been arranged at the civic centre in Consett on at 2pm on Friday, September 7.
A copy of the strategy can be obtained by visiting the council web site at www.derwentside.org.uk or by telephoning Lynn Bryden on (01207) 218239.
