IT'S judgment day in the battle of the blooms as two of the UK's leading gardeners head to North Yorkshire.
Northallerton is one of the national finalists in the small town category of this year's Britain in Bloom competition.
And expert judges Doug Stacey and Maurice Baren are in town today to see how local people and businesses have risen to the challenge.
Among the many who have is the Broadacres Housing Association, which has sponsored a large floral display on the newly-refurbished area in front of the town hall.
Tony Twiggs and John Coulson from the association's board of management presented the display to the chairman of the Northallerton in Bloom committee, Jack Dobson.
