A WOMAN repaid hospital staff for treating her husband and mother by presenting them with a cheque for £1,650.
Wendy Stanton, a switchboard worker at James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, was so impressed by treatment at the cardio thorasic intensive care unit, for patients who have undergone heart surgery, that she organised a charity night in its honour.
She raised £1,650 from a tombola, entertainment, a raffle, and pie and peas supper at the Ironopolis Club, in Middlesbrough.
Mrs Stanton said: "My mum had a triple bypass and shortly afterwards, my husband had a heart attack and also needed a bypass.
"You couldn't fault the staff - they are worth their weight in gold."
Both Mr Stanton and Mrs Stanton's mother are making excellent recoveries.
