AWARD-winning audio visual specialist Saville is celebrating ten years of its mail-order educational wing with three new appointments to its SchoolsVision arm at its York head office.

They are JON HUBERY, ALISON COTTRELL and LOUISE TAYLOR.

Until now they have all been part of a 20-strong sales office team, but from September they will be visiting schools across the UK to provide on-site audio visual advice and equipment demonstrations.

* Consett-based Explorer group has appointed CRISPIN MARTINDALE as transport manager. Crispin spent 13 years in the army's Royal Corp of Transport, before taking on transport management roles, including controlling distribution for Marks and Spencer stores in the North-West.

* Former accountancy lecturer LYNNE THOMPSON has joined business advisors Grant Thornton in Newcastle where she will specialise in helping owner managers with personal tax planning.

* KRIS ANDERSEN is joining Watson Burton solicitors to lead the private clients department. Kris has specialised in inheritance tax planning and related issues in the North-East for the past 25 years. Over the past two years he has been building up his own practice, which he is now merging with Watson Burton.

* Arriva Trains has appointed a new sales manager for its stations in Teesside. CHRIS BENSON, 39, from Norton in North Yorkshire, has been promoted from the role of sales and quality supervisor with Arriva Trains Northern, a post he has held for the past eight years.

* Stockton-based transport group Stiller has two new directors. They are RICHARD LLEWLLYN, who has been recruited as business director for Stiller Warehousing and Distribution, and GRAHAM MORGAN who is the new business director for Stiller General Haulage.

* Rural surveyor CALUM GILLHESPY, who works for Smiths Gore in Darlington, has been made an associate with the national firm. He joined Smiths Gore in 1994, moving to the Darlington office in 1998, principally to assist the Coal Authority in the disposal of its non-operational portfolio.

* TTE Management and Technical Training has appointed BOB BEVAN as project manager for its new £1m contract with Nigeria LNG.

Mr Bevan is a member of the Institute of Personnel and Development and a council member of the Chemicals, Manufacturing and Processes National Training Organisation (CMPNTO). He was previously chairman of the Chemical Industries Training Organisation Merseyside.

* DENISE ROGERS from Durham is the new community energy advisor for British Gas in the North-East. She will work in partnership with voluntary groups, charities and other agencies to provide advice and assistance to the disadvantaged in the community.
