THE National Canine Defence League is trying to rehome a dog which was abandoned in its car park.
Bruno, a tan long-haired collie cross, was found by staff at the charity's Sadberge centre, near Darlington.
They left him alone at first because they thought he belonged to a visitor, but he became distressed and staff took him in.
Centre manager Catherine Gillie, said it was a shame Bruno's owners did not feel they could take him to the centre, because it would have been helpful to know his history.
"We will take in any dog in need. We will not judge people. We understand that problems can arise that means the dog can no longer be cared for," she said.
Anyone with information about Bruno, or who would like to give him a home can contact (01325) 333114.
