NINETY apprentices received achievement awards from South West Durham Training at an annual presentation day.
Winners included Iain Armstrong, of Express Dairies, who was named Engineering Apprentice of the Year, and Deborah Miller, of David Penman Cars, who took the Business Administration Apprentice of the Year award.
Dr Michael Sanderson, of the Engineering and Marine Training Authority, presented the awards, which this year included a new prize for the Technology Student of the Year, which was won by Andrew Hickson, of Carmel Technology College, Darlington.
Other winners were: Sarah Atkinson, Electrolux, Spennymoor; Frazier Bowie, Richmond Frozen Confectionery; Scott Baker, Darchem Engineering; Michael Brown, Zinc Counters; James Bland, Fin Machine Company; Andrew Nicholson, HMH; Richard Graham, Lafarge Lime; Graham Martindale and Jonathan Tinkler, Tallent Engineering; Iain Gibson and Glen Wise, Arrk; Thomas Turnbull, Durham Precision Engineering; Craig Wade, Filtronics.
