MARATHON men Martyn Lowrie and Gerry Hehir have raised just over £2,000 for the Bethany Davison Appeal.
Two-year-old Bethany, daughter of Sedgefield police officer Mick Davison and his wife Nicola, suffers from cerebral palsy and epilepsy resulting from complications after her birth.
The cash flowed in from sponsors after Inspector Lowrie, who works at the Newton Aycliffe armed support unit, and Mr Hehir, fitness suite manager at the Teesdale Sports Centre, Barnard Castle, completed the London Marathon in April.
Insp Lowrie said: "We are well pleased with the amount raised, and want to thank our colleagues both locally and throughout the force, friends and family, for their support in raising the money. It is great to have been able to help Bethany in this way."
