Volunteers are needed urgently by a charity that provides help for people who have suffered a stroke.
The Northallerton Goal - Go Out And Live - Club was formed 18 years ago to provide recreational, social and therapeutic help for stroke sufferers.
Initially it operated under the auspices of the Red Cross, but became an independent club affiliated to the Stroke Association in 1997.
In recent years, the number of helpers has declined and the total is down to just four.
"We have been out to a number of events to publicise the club, but alas that has not been successful in gaining new members," said a spokesman yesterday.
The committee has decided to make one last attempt to recruit new helpers before giving serious consideration to winding up the club.
Anyone who can spare about two hours a month to help with the club's work should contact Peter Blakey on (01609) 770317.
