A WOMAN has given birth to sextuplets at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. The premature babies were born 12 weeks early on Thursday, August 9.
Five of the six babies, two boys and three girls, are said to be in a stable condition and making progress in the RVI's neonatal intensive care unit.
A fourth girl died on Sunday morning following complications due her premature birth.
Birth weights ranged from 340g to 1040g.
