HUNDREDS of youngsters got to meet their TV and fairytale heroes when they flocked to a teddy bears' picnic in Bishop Auckland.
Bob The Builder, The Three Bears and Truffle the Clown were just some of the special guests who attended Wear Valley District Council's teddy bear's picnic in the grounds of Auckland Castle.
The weather was good to the picnickers, who enjoyed a packed lunch in the gardens of the castle, which is the official home of the Bishop of Durham.
Entertainment was provided by Talia Theatrum, Funhouse Productions, and Jack Drum Arts.
Other highlights of the day were a birds of prey display by Ridgeside Falconry, and barrel organ music.
Mari Macdonald, community leisure officer at Wear Valley District Council, said: "I would like to say a big thank you to Auckland Castle and all the entertainers for making the event a special occasion. Thankfully the weather has been good after having rain for the last two years."
