Coast League at Castle Eden. The coast League totaled 166 with Chris Price scoring 62 and his Dawdon team colleague Andrew Stephenson 28 while for the County League Carl McGregor was against in top form, taking five for 26 runs in 7.3 overs.
When the County League replied they were indebted to the Darlington RA batsman Paul Freary, who finished unbeaten with 80 out of a winning total of 172 for six. David Morton returned figures of two for 33 in eight overs and Richard Ede had two for 44, also from a four overs spell.
In the other game played at Seaham Harbour, the Durham Senior League defeated the N and T League by five wickets. Faced with a target of 120, they had six overs and five wickets to spare mainly due to the efforts of David Maughan who hit four boundaries in 36 not out, Graham Race (28no) and Daniel Shurban (23).
Adam Ainley bowled economically for the N&T league taking two for eight from four overs and Richard Deacon did even better conceding seven runs in four overs for two wickets.
Batting first the N&T League realised 119 for nine in 37 overs, Chris Davidson, top scored with 32, hitting one six and five fours from the 60 balls he received and Peter Lumley added 30, with four boundaries.
David Maughan, who at one stage had taken four wickets without conceding a run, ended with four for four in six overs and Johnny Wightman returned two for 16 in an eight over spell.
National Under-13 Championship
Stocksfield were involved in three games in the National Under-13 championships at Oakham School, Leicestershire.
In their first game they lost by ten runs to Staveley when Andrew Oliver claimed three for 20 in four overs. Staveley ended on 88 for seven and Stocksfield managed just 78 for nine of which bell top scored with 24.
In their next match Stocksfield lost by 34 runs to Essex side Wanstead. Facing a target of 135, Stocksfield finished with 100 for nine which included a top performing innings of 23 by Dan Kirkup.
Stocksfield again lost in a rain affected game against Bessborough of Middlesex.
Stocksfield total 57 for three with Kirkup again top scorer carrying his bat for 30 and in reply Bessborough conceded just one wicket.
