THREE burly men had tears in their eyes as they vowed "never again" after experiencing just a little of the pain women go through in the name of beauty.
They had endured their first body waxing in order to raise £500 for their estate's residents association to buy equipment for children.
Dozens of youngsters from the Pont Head estate, at Leadgate, near Consett, County Durham, watched as the men had hair ripped from their chests and legs.
"It's all for the kids, but it did bring a tear to our eyes," said leading member of the Pont Head Residents' Association, Joe Keeler.
He was joined by Karl Chatton and Craig Racliff.
The association has arranged a free disco for youngsters on the estate for every Thursday night at the Leadgate Scout hut.
