Monday's matches
Champions Acklam Steelworks continued their winning form from last season when they made it two wins out of two, despite having a number of new faces in their side when they beat New Marske 3-0 at home.
David Campbell, signed from local rivals BEADS, opened the scoring against New Marske SC in the 15th minute which was the only goal of the first half.
Seven minutes into the second period, Campbell was on target again to make it 2-0. New Marske were prompted by their man of the match Gary Bickerstaff but in the 62nd minute Campbell secured his hat-trick and fifth of the season to condemn the visitors to their second defeat of the new season. Despite his hat-trick, Campbell was beaten to the man of the match award with Lee Atkinson, another signing from BEADS, was nominated as man of the match for his tireless running in this second win of the season.
Bedale Athletic made it two from two following last Saturdays opening 4-0 over New Marske when they beat Cargo Fleet 3-0.
They took a second half lead a tight first period, and never looked back.
Paul Taite opened with his second of the new season in the 58th minute before a first of the season from Russell Dixon 12 minutes later. The third was a second of the season from last season's leading scorer and Player of the Year winner, Adam Bramley.
Carlin How and Fishburn Park shared seven goals, with hosts Carlin How, being just edged out.
Steven Starsmore opened the scoring for Carlin How in the very first attack after a scramble in the 18 yard box.
A minute later the Whitby visitors were on level terms when Duncan Marson picked up the ball on the edge of the Carlin How box and ran past two central defenders before making it 1-1.
In an end-to-end match Starsmore, added his second when he chanced a long range shot that struck a defender and looped into the back of the net in the 33rd minute. But three minutes later it was 2-2 when Jason Couse miss-timed his tackle on man of the match Mick Hall who ran on to round Mark Harkin in the Carlin How goal and scored to send the teams in at half-time at 2-2.
In the second period, Fishburn Park were on top and in the 55th minute Stuart Marsay unleashed a shot that hit the underside of the bar before the assistant referees ruled the ball had crossed the line.
Carlin how pushed forward, prompted by man of the match Robbie Jones, and ten minutes from time, Ryan Scott opened his account from a free-kick. He was upended 20 yard out and then picked himself up to rifle the ball home to make it 3-3.
The match seemed to be heading to a draw ,but Fishburn substitute Lee Found, who had been on the field for only nine minutes rose between two Carlin How defenders to head home a last gasp winner, making it two out of two for Fishburn Park.
Nunthorpe Ath bounced back from their disappointing 0-0 opening day draw at Richmond, and sent their visitors Hollybush United to their second defeat with a 5-2 win. Lee Doughty was the Hollybush tormentor as he opened in the 20th minute and grabbed a second five minutes later in. Hollybush pulled it back to 2-1 in the 39th minute through Glenn Smith, only for Doughty to grab his hat-trick goal three minutes before the break.
Six minutes into the second half, Johnny May gave Hollybush a glimmer of hope, only for Doughty to grab his fourth of the match in the 57th minute to make it 4-2, before Phil Pinkney got his name on the scoresheet to complete the scoring.
