TO celebrate 125 years of the Mothers' Union, members of Yarm Mothers' Union held an open day in St Mary Magdalene Church, the parish church of Yarm, in West Street.
There were photographs of personalities and local, regional and national events, and displays showing some of the handicrafts done by branch members, including knitted baby clothes.
A number of teddy bears remain without homes because of foot-and-mouth restrictions.
They are usually sent to children of the Third World, but they cannot be exported until restrictions are lifted.
The Yarm branch was founded in 1924. New members are welcome at the afternoon meeting, held in the parish church on the last Monday of the month, from 2pm to 4pm, or evening meetings, on the third Wednesday of the month, at 7.30pm, also in the church.
