PLANS to expand a nursing home will have to be put on hold until councillors have visited the site.
The owners of Haughton Nursing Home, in Stockton Road, Darlington, have applied for planning permission to build a single-storey extension to provide a day room.
But Darlington Borough Council has received an objection from neighbours, who feel that the extension would obstruct the entrance to their garage.
Planning officers said they believed the difference of opinion was a matter for the neighbours and should not affect the council's decision.
They recommended granting the application, but members chose to view the site before making a decision on the application.
