Darlington recorded their first win of the season against Kidderminster Harriers at Feethams on Saturday - albeit controversially.
Quakers will be largely thankful for a hotly disputed second half penalty which turned the game in their favour ultimately giving them the three points.
Until the 68th minute the game had been fairly even but Mark Ford's penalty handed the initiative to Gary Bennett's side.
Ford's spot kick then signalled an incident packed five minutes.
First, Danny Mellanby slid home a Richard Hodgson cross in the 72nd minute to double Quakers' advantage and then 60 second later the visitors had defender Parfait Medou Otte sent off for stamping on Barry Conlon.
The Quakers play host to Sheffield United on Monday night in the Worthington Cup where they are likely to be without new signing Neil Wainwright who picked up an injury.
