SHOPPERS are being offered the chance to meet their local police officers as they do their shopping.
"Bobby Lobbies" is the latest service to become available at the Asda supermarket in the Newgate Centre, Bishop Auckland.
The service consists of open surgeries where residents can meet their local beat PC.
The surgeries will be held in the store for an hour each month.
Asda in Leeds already offers the service to its customers after a local police officer said he felt he was not meeting people from the community and finding out what issues and concerns were important to them.
A spokesman for the Bishop Auckland store said: "We want to hold Bobby Lobbies in our store to ensure that as many people in the area as possible have the opportunity to meet their local policeman and discuss any concerns they may have."
