FERRYHILL kept up its proud tradition of horticultural excellence in the town's annual best gardens contest.
The competition, organised by the town council, attracted hundreds of entries with judging taking place earlier this year.
Three categories were available - best non-residential premises, best residential garden and best yard.
Awards to the winners were made at a presentation ceremony at the Manor House pub, in Ferryhill.
The award winners were: best garden, Mr Wallace and Joyce Anderson; best yard, Paul Hatton; best non-residential premises, Bruno Giusti.
