A PUB is hoping to raise hundreds of pounds for research into brain disorders.
The Iron Horse pub, in Newton Aycliffe, held a family fun day on Saturday in aid of The Clarke Lister Brain Haemorrhage Foundation.
The foundation helps to fund research into a medical condition which affects more than 500 people each year in the North-East.
Money raised is also used to set up support groups for families of victims of fatal brain haemorrhages.
The Iron Horse pub was contacted by the charity to stage a fun day and arranged fairground rides, face-painting, a disco, and an adult comedy night as part of the fundraising effort.
Landlord Paul Wade said: "The day went extremely well, and although it rained we braved that."
The final figure raised from the event is expected to be known in the next few days.
