A CONSTRUCTION company has secured a £100,000 contract to fit out six new shops.
Sunderland-based Kennek Construction will fit out the Storey Carpets shops, including one at Tollbar Road, Ryhope, Wearside.
During the past six months the Sunderland shopfitters has secured more than £250,000 worth of business from the carpet retailer.
Kennek Construction has been established in the Hendon area of the city since 1974, and currently employs 25 staff.
The company has been responsible for the entire refit of the new store, from installation of in-store merchandising to construction of the store frontage.
The owner of Kennek, Ken Bradley, said: "Kennek is proud to play a key role in Storey's expansion programme.
"We're currently working on six new stores, which have been a great challenge for our team and we're on schedule to have everything ready for the openings on August bank holiday weekend."
