DINOSAURS proved to be a roaring success when council staff held their second Garden Pride exhibition.
More than 27,000 people visited the ten-day show on Scarborough's seafront - well up on last year's event.
Six animated dinosaurs were the main stars of the display, which created a prehistoric scene out of plants and flowers.
It featured a flying dinosaur emerging from a pond, 20 different water features and the centrepiece was an erupting volcano complete with flame effects.
Council gardeners used 15,000 plants, 60 tonnes of sand and 1,000 gallons of water to put together the display.
Director of technical services Derek Rowell said: "This partnership between public, private and voluntary organisations is unique and something we can build on in the future."
