AND now for something completely different.
The Beamish Mary pub at No Place, near Stanley, is to hold a monthly music night called Something Different, in an attempt to bring different kinds of music to the local pub scene.
On the first Something Different night, on Friday, August 31, organisers will try to create the atmosphere of a cruise ship cocktail lounge.
The night will be called A Little Light Music in the Night, and will feature Dave and Judith, who travel the world entertaining. Doors open at 8pm and entry costs £1.50.
A monthly buskers' night, open to all comers, is also operating at the pub, and on Friday, September 21, the Bill Elliot Band will perform.
Contact the pub for more details.
