THE dream of an independent children's hospice for the North-East has moved a step closer to reality, thanks to staff and clients at the Stanley Day Centre.
More than £600 was raised for the Chin Up Appeal by people at the centre in events such as a barbecue and prize raffle.
Centre manager Paul Tomlinson said: "The staff and clients worked very hard to raise the money and were glad to support a cause which will benefit local people."
The Stanley Day Centre works with people with physical difficulties and sensory impairment.
